An Extended Family for Your Kids!

Fusion Learning Center started out 20 years ago in Encinitas, California, in the garage office of Michelle Rose Gilman's home.

In the beginning, Michelle worked with six students with severe emotional problems who were transitioning out of psychiatric hospitals. From these humble beginnings, Fusion has grown by adding 27 teachers; an administrative department; a complete, professional recording studio; an art department; a full-time private school; an addiction specialty division; and our popular Homework Café. We now enroll over 450 students.

"At Fusion, I am encouraged to get to know my students as individuals. I become involved in every aspect of their lives and I carry each of them with me, even when I am way from the facility. I am fortunate to be able to develop a unique way of helping them solve their difficulties–something that was never allowed me in the school system. I love to go to work every day, because it’s more than just a job, it’s a connection that benefits all involved."

–Chris Burger, Director of Independent Studies
