"No
one can become really educated without
having pursued some study in which he took no interest."
- T.S. Eliot
Lets
just say it like it is! Weve never met a student
who enjoys the SAT or ACT. However, these tests are a necessary
component for students wanting to matriculate to colleges
and universities. We cant get around these tests
and we cant fight college admission teams on this
(at least not yet!).
To
prepare our students for taking these standardized tests,
Fusion offers individually tailored test-preparation
programs. All our test prep is done one-on-one, and
we are able to offer flexible scheduling to accommodate
individual needs.
First,
each student is given a baseline assessment to determine
their unique needs and strengths. A program is then
developed that focuses on their specific needs. Fusion
does not use a one-size-fits-all approach to
the SAT/ACT: Every child is different and each child
requires a one of a kind approach.
Typically,
students work with two different teachers for the test
prep: a master math teacher and a verbal/writing instructor.
How many sessions a student will have varies depending
on need; however, we recommend at least 20 sessions
(10 verbal/10 math) to achieve the most benefit from
Fusions SAT/ACT Prep program.
Test
Preparation is available for the following tests:
- SAT
- ACT
- SAT
Subject Tests
- PSAT
- GED
- GRE
Group
mock SAT/ACT/SAT subject tests are offered at Fusion continually throughout
the school year. These tests mimic the actual tests,
and students are required to come prepared as they would
for the real test. Students and families are given the
score report with explanations following each mock exam.

When
to get started on test preparation?
This
is a great question, and the answer varies depending
on the student. Factors to take into consideration include:
- What
was the PSAT score?
- When
is the actual test date?
- How
are the grades in high school?
- Does
the student have any learning disabilities?
- Does
the student usually do better when cramming or by
taking their time?
- What
college/university is being considered?
Fusion
is trained to help you answer these questions and guide
you in making those important decisions.
